What is the "protocol"?

The core of the Dextra protocol consists of active Vaults and associated smart contracts on the blockchain. These contracts accept user deposits, use the funds for automated yield farming, and then distribute fee rewards among various blockchain participants. As the smart contracts operate independently of the rest of the project, the protocol functions autonomously, even if all supporting participants cease to maintain it.

How does the protocol work?

The Dextra protocol involves the transfer of funds through various wallets and smart contracts to perform two primary functions:

  1. Automated yield farming: Optimizing yield for users so that they earn more with Dextra than elsewhere or by themselves.

  2. Rewarding and incentivizing participants: Supporting and ensuring the operation of the protocol by rewarding participants.

To ensure the smart contracts of the protocol function correctly, additional services are required, provided by the Dextra development team:

  • Maintenance and updates of existing smart contracts.

  • Development and deployment of new contracts.

  • Providing a functional web interface for users.

  • Supporting servers and databases for storing and distributing data.

  • Automating contract interactions.

These services are necessary to ensure the safety, accessibility, and understanding of Dextra's smart contracts. External services can integrate with the Dextra protocol to provide access to its products, but they are not considered part of the protocol itself.
